Week One
Thursday, July 10, 5:30-8 p.m.: Yoga with Ximena + Poetry workshop with Michelle Sewell of GirlChild Press.
Friday, July 11, 5:30-8p.m.: Drumming basics with Kristen + Freedom Songs with DC Labor Chorus Director, Elise Bryant.
Saturday, July 12, 11am-2pm: Yoga with Durga + more poetry with Michelle Sewell.

Week Two
Thursday, July 17, 5:30-8 p.m.: Yoga with Ximena + Movement play workshop with Binahkaye Joy.
Friday, July 18, 5:30-8 p.m.: West African Drum and Dance workshop with Mahiri Keita Edwards and Lesina Martin, both of Farafina Kan and Joe’s Movement Emporium. Assistance from Kristen.
Saturday, July 19, 11am-2pm: Yoga with Durga + More drum and dance w/ Mahiri and Lesina.

Week Three
Thursday, July 24, 5:30-8 p.m.: Yoga with Ximena + Drumming with Kristen.
Friday, July 25, 5:30-8 p.m.: Performance and Spoken Word techniques with local hip-hop artist, the Princess of Controversy.
Saturday, July 26, 11am-2pm: Yoga with Durga + More performance Techniques with Princess.

Week Four
Thursday, July 31, 5:30-8p.m.: Yoga with Ximena + Drumming with Kristen.
Friday, Aug. 1, 5:30-8p.m.: Song-writing workshop with Margaux Delotte-Bennett.
Saturday, Aug. 2, 11am-2pm: Yoga with Durga + More Song-writing with Margaux Delotte-Bennett.

Week Five
Thursday, Aug. 7, 5:30-8p.m.: Yoga with Ximena + Drumming with Kristen + Creating the Performance theme & set list.
Friday, Aug. 8, 5:30-8p.m.: Drumming with Kristen + Run through the set list, work each piece.
Saturday, Aug. 9, 11am-2pm: Yoga with Durga + Continue running the set list, working pieces.

Week Six
Thursday, Aug. 14, 5:30-8p.m.: Yoga with Ximena + tightening the set with Princess and Kristen.
Friday, Aug. 15, 5:30-8p.m.: Tightening the set list with Princess and Kristen Arant.
Saturday, Aug. 16, 11am-2pm: Yoga with Durga + New rhythms with renowned female drummer, Jaqui MacMillan.

Week Seven
Aug 21-24 Break + Three lucky YWDEP members will attend the Catskill Mountain Women’s World Drum and Percussion Happenin’ in Upper New York State.

Week Eight
Aug. 25 – Dress Rehearsal for performance, Time and Location TBA
Sept. 1 – Dress Rehearsal for Performance, Time and Location TBA
